Mandalas

After a stressful day.

So, there's this free mandala class I signed up for on the Willowing.ning network by a lady named Guadalupe Cabal. (wow that was a lot of links) IT runs for three weeks and it pretty cool. It's pretty straight forward and requires, a pencil, a compass, some geometry triangles, pens/markers and something to add colour with.

The first class was about just getting the idea of mandalas which is to, using a compass and a straight edge, create something complex and beautiful with points, angles and references. It's all very intuitive.
The one on the top is one I came up with after a long stressful day. It's very meditative. You just make your circle, make your flower and then just follow your gut. I don't think you have to start with a flower every time, but that's how far we've gotten in the course.

It's fascinating that something so precise and scientific can create something so pretty. It's almost scientific or mathematical abstract art.
